How XP Works
XP (Experience Points) measures your engagement on Circuit. Here's exactly how the system works.
Base Earning Rate
Earn 1 XP per minute watching new content for the first time
First watch, new content
Up to 240 XP per day from watch time. Resets at midnight UTC.
24-hour cooldown between rewatches of the same content. New content has no cooldown.
XP is earned for positions you haven't watched before. Seeking back won't re-earn XP.
Diminishing Returns
Rewatching the same content earns progressively less XP. This encourages discovering new creators and content while still rewarding repeat engagement.
Live streams bypass the cooldown — you earn XP continuously while the stream is live.

XP Levels
Your level comes from your total XP. Each level needs its number squared, times 100 — so every level costs more than the one before it.

When a viewer earns XP from an ad on your content, 5% of it is credited to you, up to 200 XP a day. XP, not revenue — Circuit sells no advertising.
What XP Is For
Today XP is a record of your participation — your level and history live on your dashboard, and there is nothing to claim or spend yet.
A native token on Base is planned, and the XP you earn now is intended to determine your share of it. It is still in development: no date, no amounts, and nothing here is a promise. Circuit works without it.
How We Verify Watch Time
A fair system built on transparency and anti-abuse measures.
Heartbeat Tracking
Your player sends periodic signals every 30 seconds to verify active viewing. Sessions are validated server-side to prevent manipulation.
Position Tracking
The system tracks your furthest watched position per video. Only genuinely new positions earn XP — seeking backwards doesn't count twice.
One Device per Title
A title can only be playing on one device at a time. Open it on a second device while the first is still running and playback is refused there, so the same stream can't be farmed twice over.
